Well folks, I did it. 4 weeks on Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion and I loved all that I've learned and gained by being asked to take this journey.
Sustained energy, good sleep for a whole month (woo woo!), less bloat and a flatter tummy and leaner arms, I am a happy gal.
If you're popping in and seeing this as a first post, check out the weekly updates, as well as the introduction to what this journey entails. It's based on Joel's method of eating after 7PM, a diet scientifically proven to improve so many facets of our health.
Post One - Introduction
Over the next four weeks, I will give you all insight to the beauty of this book, as well as document my own personal journey of eating after 7PM. I'm hoping to gain a spike in energy, balance my hormones and more even blood sugar, so we will see what this month brings.
And to note, I love what Marion had to say about food - a philosophy that aligns with my own when working with clients who think I'm just going to make them "diet" to hit goals...
Traditional diets require that you give up your favorite foods, and that’s
simply unrealistic. - Joel Marion, Always Eat After 7PM

A Guide To Starting With Oils
Authenticity means everything to me, which is why it's taken so long for me to move into the space of sharing and selling oils. As I really, whole heartedly began to believe in them and fall in love with this non-toxic lifestyle we are leading with our homes, health and bodies, I began speaking more of them and sharing them with those around me and with my clients and readers.
Many have asked how they can get started, I have all that info on my oils page.
This post, however, serves to inform on how you can best utilize the oils that come in the Premium Starter Kit. It's how I got started, it contains some of my very favorite oils that are versatile for your everyday life and it is how many of my friends and clients are starting their oily journeys as well.
Below I've outlined what's included in the Premium Starter Kit, and how each oil is best used. If you have any questions, would like to try an oil or are interested in getting started, contact me. I'd be happy to chat!
One of my very favorite oils, I diffuse this nightly to promote relaxing, sound sleep for the hubs, baby and me. I also keep one with me to diffuse when we travel to promote relaxation and cut down on travel stress. It's also the perfect addition to a bath soak.
This oil alone makes the Starter Kit worth it. This premium oil has been sought after since ancient times and has a complex, earthy aroma. Best used when engaging in prayer, it can help you to feel centered and focused. It's also popular in skin care as it helps maintain radiant skin. And acts as a great healing oil for many ailments.
A must-have for any mamas with teething toddlers, this works great to reduce inflammation/swelling in the gums. It also works well for post - workout inflammation as a massage oil when blended with a carrier oil. You can add it to your daily moisturizer for healthier, younger looking skin.
Because, life. Stress Away is also a top on my list, not only for it's relaxation properties but I ADORE the lime and vanilla blend that's in this scent. It makes for a pleasant perfume when applied to wrists and as a bonus can help you combat daily stressors.
Peppermint can work wonders for digestive upset, and diffusing this while pregnant helped with morning sickness. I used this during labor and delivery as well to energize me. Blend with Eucalyptus for a spa-like bath experience.
MUST HAVE for cold and flu season, or anytime you or the family have the sniffles. A power blend of three Eucalyptus oils, as well as Spruce and Cypress with help alleviate congestion. Also a great energizing scent to diffuse or apply topically to enhance focus.
This is one of my favorites for cleaning and for keeping my home smelling fresh. Use it to make household cleaners, diffuse it for an uplifting scent, or use it in your conditioner for extra shine.
Aside from diffusing lavender nightly, I probably use this one the most. I've made household sprays to freshen laundry, furniture and heavy traffic areas, as it purifies and cleanses the air naturally, without chemicals. It's also a great one to use in the USB diffuser for neutralizing unpleasant car odors.
I call this one the King of Clean. Used to make household cleaners, beauty products and more, it's a must have for the winter season as diffusing it also helps to boost immunity to fight colds and flus.
My favorite gym bag companion, Panaway offers a nice, natural cool down for sore, tired muscles. When mixed with a carrier oil, its the perfect cooling massage oil or create a soothing bath when mixed with Epsom salt.
This spicy, rich blend is the perfect oil to diffuse at the end of a long day. The blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli oils helps the whole family to feel calm after a busy day. A good after dinner blend to diffuse before the bedtime routine begins.
Hydration is important. This we know. (I hope you know!)
If you've followed my blog for a while you know I hold water high on my priority list, as we all should.
Aside from the occasional mug of peppermint tea or Crio Bru as a treat, water is all I drink (and even then those beverages are 99% water). It's all I've drank since 2011. It's taught me to really HEAR my body when I'm listening to it. I know when I need another eight ounces, another sixteen ounces. I can tell in my skin, my breathing, my mood and my overall performance in the gym.
Aside from hydrating internally, hydrating externally is also important. A special little item I use to travel with when I was touring now follows me to the gym. Evian's Hydrating Mist is a refreshing pick-me-up after a workout, Holy yoga class or to wake me up on days I'm feeling sluggish.
In addition to my yoga mat, headphones and water bottle, it keeps my gym bag light while allowing me to feel fresh and go about the rest of my day.
What special items makes your gym sessions feel luxurious and keep you refreshed?
This is a sponsored post. I received free product from Evian in exchange for writing this review. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions, as well as the photography, are my own.
Is there even coffee in here?
Know what you're putting in your body.
It's important to be aware of what you're consuming. We get one body and what we fuel that body with determines how we feel, both physically and mentally. Starbucks recently released the sugar content for their latest six new flavors of Frappuccino's that everyone is going nuts over and I have to say, honestly, these numbers are almost criminal. 102 GRAMS of SUGAR?!
There's also a big trend in people giving their children these sugar-laden drinks, the ones made without coffee, but I would suggest MUCH healthier alternatives. Make a shake at home. I have a recipe for a dairy-free and sugar-free shake that tastes remarkably like a restaurant chocolate shake that is loved by toddlers in my home. Childhood obesity and diabetes is growing at alarming rates and we the power to stop and slow that trend by making health-conscious decisions.
I am not saying we don't deserve the occasional treat, and if you must get a treat when you're out, know the sugar content. Opt for a sweetened tea or order a hot cocoa. Or work on a sugar-cleanse to benefit you, so that next time you will be satisfied with an herbal tea, warm lemon water or black decaf. Peppermint tea with a dash of honey is so sweet & satisfying to my palette now it feels like dessert. Make these easy swaps and your health, and your wallet, will thank you.
The name Everlast has been somewhat of a fixture in my home since I was a little girl. Growing up I always watched my dad watching the boxing greats. Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and Holyfield were men my dad cheered on as a hobby. He also had a gym in our garage where he would box and workout.
Though I may not remember any details from any of the matches, I was after all, only five years old, I do remember his red Everlast boxing gloves.
I always felt so cool sneaking them and pretending to box, my tiny little arms dwarfed by the over-sized gloves. It was a symbol of strength and ability. And I liked that.
They say many things in life come back around, and when I was honored to be asked to be a Brand Ambassador for Everlasts' new vegan protein line, the little girl in me grinned.
I am always happy to get behind a product that promotes a healthy and fitness driven lifestyle, so I had to try their new protein powder - as smoothies for breakfast when I'm busy are my life.
If you are vegan, and can tolerate rice, this is a great option. It's a vanilla-flavored blend of pea, rice and hemp protein and packs a whopping 22 grams of protein per serving. That's over half my daily requirement for my weight! AND, NO GMOS and NO SUGAR. It's naturally sweetened with Stevia. Win and win again.
If you'd like to try it for yourself, you can visit www.EverlastNutrition.com - and they are currently having a sale!

product review: inflammacore
Each serving has 19 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber in addition to 1,000 grams of Omega 3's. On top of it all, it's naturally sweetened with a touch of Stevia and it tastes delicious. Available in cherry, orange and banana creme, I myself prefer the banana creme. It pairs so yummy with all natural blueberry juice, coconut milk or chocolate almond milk with an added real banana as a dessert treat that takes care of my body. Below is a listing from OrtoMolecular on the specific benefits of each herb. I've also seen many reviews on this product about how well it works, being a saving grace for a lot of patients with IBS. I myself can vouch for this product and highly recommend it to anyone struggling with inflammation problems.

This orange-colored spice, used for thousands of years in cooking and medicine, is rich in curcumin. In numerous studies, curcumin has been shown to have strong NFkB-modulating properties. NFkB plays a crucial role in inflammation. High activity levels of NFkB are associated with cell death and tissue damage. This broad-spectrum activity makes curcumin a great choice for supporting balanced inflammation in the body.
Skullcap Root Extract
Skullcap root has been used historically in Chinese medicine to support balance in the basic inflammatory response function and healthy immune function. Studies show skullcap is a strong scavenger of oxidative radicals, and is also able to promote balanced NFkB activity and maintain normal prostaglandin synthesis.
Green Tea Extract (EGCG)
EGCG, the most well-researched catechin in green tea, has been shown to protect cells from free radical damage and positively affect inflammatory response markers.
Efficacious amount of l-glutamine and glycine, amino acids crucial for mucosal regeneration and tissue repair.
Immune System Balance
Biologically active amount of vitamin D and arabinogalactan for support of proper immune function.
