Thank God for Sundays. Literally. :)
As a touring musician, my schedule was always really messed up. As a singer, we work weekends, we usually have the weekdays off. Thus no appreciation for the true “day of rest”, or the ability to really understand a normal schedule. When others have time off.. like the weekends, summers, holidays…. those are prime concert date times. I was all kinds of backwards. For years. Now as I’m writing from home (love) and gearing up for the next CD, I’ve had some time to become a little more domesticated as a newlywed. However, as of right now writing doesn’t quite pay all the bills ( all in God’s time ) So, right now I also manage a day spa. Which I love, because massages = happiness.Yes, please. So, as I work Mon-Saturdays with an odd weekday off, I really have come to appreciate Sundays as my rest & rejuvenate day. Which God has totally planned. Which brings me to the point of my post. This weekend was beautiful. I worked Friday & Saturday but only until about mid-day so Mr. Charming and I had some time to buy a couple more antique pieces for the new living room and get some other rooms in order. I also baked my FIRST SUCCESSFUL gluten, grain AND yeast free bread and I’m proud to say it’s DELICIOUS, MOIST, FLUFFY and made a terrific Sunday brunch Almond Butter and Jam sandwich!! :) Recipe is under BREADS. For breakfast this weekend we also made homemade sweet potato hash browns with garlic & onion with sunny-side up organic eggs and it was delicious!! My appreciation for the food God has blessed us with has grown as well.. such simple things can make you appreciate life’s moments and I love that. We also served at church with our three year old’s and after an EXHAUSTING day of work, and feeling like I could nap all day because of the gloominess of our storm, I didn’t think I’d have energy to get through the class. Not only were we given 14 of the most energetic children I think we’ve had to date, we were also given the energy to get through it all and have fun! :) amen! Sunday’s Bible study was great as well. Although some of our new members couldn’t be with us, it was a small group, but it’s always such a warm safe space, no matter how many come together. It’s always a great way to wrap up a lazy Sunday. I hope you all had an amazing weekend as well :) Share your Lazy Sunday stories!
