There are seasons of life that feel less like living and more like waiting. Waiting for answers. Waiting to feel like yourself again. Waiting for your body to cooperate. Waiting for the energy to dream. Waiting to recognize the person staring back at you in the mirror. For a long time, I quietly wondered if that version of me—the one who built businesses, wrote stories, dreamed big dreams, and couldn’t wait to create—had somehow disappeared. I didn’t stop believing in those dreams. I just didn’t know if I would ever have the strength to carry them again. Life became smaller. Not in a sad way (ok, maybe some days in a very sad way), but also in a necessary way. I've learned to celebrate things I once hurried past. A cup of tea while the house was quiet (or loud and full.) My children laughing over a homeschool lesson. Something sweet baking in the oven. The afternoon light stretching across the kitchen floor. I didn’t realize it then, but something was changing. Not around me. Within me. If you’ve ever watched a caterpillar disappear into a chrysalis, you know that from the outside it looks like…nothing. Stillness. Silence. Waiting. It almost appears as though life has stopped. But inside, an extraordinary transformation is taking place.The caterpillar isn’t resting. It’s becoming.  Today, I did my first press interview in years. SIX years to be exact. If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be sitting down to talk about my work again—about my businesses, my journey, and a secret project that’s finally making its way into the world—I don’t know that I would have believed you. Not because I had stopped dreaming. But because I had almost forgotten what dreaming felt like. As I answered questions today, I realized something unexpected. This interview wasn’t about looking back at everything I’d accomplished. It was about recognizing that I had quietly begun moving forward again. Not all at once and certainly not dramatically. Just one recipe, one page, one conversation, one prayer, one cup of tea. Just one ordinary Tuesday at a time. Sometimes we think transformation looks like a single, defining moment. But I’ve learned it often looks like choosing hope in the smallest possible ways until, one day, you realize you’re standing somewhere entirely new. If you’re in a season that feels hidden… If your life feels quieter than it once did… If you’re wondering whether the dreams you tucked away will ever find their way back to you… Can I gently remind you of something? The chrysalis is not the end of the story. It’s the place where the story changes. Where God can meet you and make a miracle. Maybe you’re not behind. Maybe you’re becoming. And perhaps one day, without even realizing it, you’ll look back and discover that what felt like your darkest season was quietly preparing you to fly. Here’s to dreaming again. One beautiful, ordinary day at a time.
