Work has kept me so, so, so, busy lately. I feel totally blessed by the work I am receiving but am missing the blog a bit and getting to get into the kitchen and experiment with baking for this wonderful season. I'd like to feature a couple gluten and dairy-free guest recipe posts on the blog this season, so if you're interested, send me a message on what you'd like to create and I'll choose a few guest posters.
I had a major fertility appointment yesterday. I was at the doctor for close to three hours and my wonderful Mr. Charming and his mom came and sat in the waiting room for support. We got good news and some news on my MTHFR condition and some things we will have to work on to overcome obstacles, for I'm hopeful and my doctor is a sweetheart and seems to know what she is talking about, so we left feeling positive that we can keep trying. So prayers requested on our journey towards future Baby P. Today's Tickle Me Tuesday was easy to put together, as I am feeling energetic and light on Day 17 of the Whole 30 diet challenge. Much, much better than the napping, constant headache, hangover-feeling of the first week! 1. Mr Charming & I are getting organized. Last weekend we both took a full day off and organized our kitchen cabinets and he built me shelves in our home theatre so I could alphabetize our film collection. You have NO idea how happy this makes me. 2. Mr. Charming's Au Gratin Sweet Potatoes. Seriously, they are Whole 30 Compliant, delicious and so comforting for Fall. I keep eating them & talking about them, yet I realize I havn't posted the recipe. And I am so sorry. I don't know why I am keeping such goodness from you all. I will post them soon. 3. My new carpet. I got a new kitchen rug. This is a big deal because I've been searching for one FOREVER. Mr. Charming built us a gorgeous dining room table (that he built for our wedding and we ate at it on our wedding night *swoon*) but its massive, and I havnt been able to find a run big enough that didn't cost our savings, until now. Thank you Target. Photos coming soon of the before and after kitchen design, once I get a little more work done on it! 4. Christmas Shopping. I am a quarter of the way done and it's still early November. I feel really grown up this year. 5. Good news. God has blessed us with amazing family, friends, love and career. It's nice to sit in silence with Him and just be thankful. I am thankful and hopeful that our road to our own little family is in His plans for us and just pray to stay close to Him as he unfolds our story before us. I haven't done a Tickle Me Tuesday in a while, so I thought it was time. I've been feeling very blessed & grateful lately. This time of year has something to do with it. The holidays are upon us, there are so many fun activities happening and work is booming. Eating healthier, going to therapy and making more times for social interaction and relaxation also has a lot to do with it. I would love for you all to chime in each week when I post these as I'd love to hear your happy moments from your week. It's been proven that recording your happy moments whether to your social network, to an app like "Happier" or in a personal journal on your nightstand can help you to feel happier and more balanced. Reflecting on the silver linings in your day can help to erase some of the gloom. If you're in a period of your life where it's a hard list to make, and we ALL go through these periods, let me know how I can pray for you :)
1. Fall cleaning. I know I'm probably one of those weird people who actually ENJOYS having time to clean. I put in extra hours at work yesterday so I could work this morning and then spend the afternoon cleaning my house. It's therapeutic and allows the puppies time to play and spend time with me when I'm not working. 2. Halloween. I am a Christmas FANatic, while Mr. Charming is all about Halloween. He adores Christmas too, but his family has a long-standing tradition of making Halloween epic, so we are hosting a charity haunted house and we hope to raise a ton of money for our chosen charity Angels, Knights & Stars. 3. Hope. Hope for my fertility appointments to go well. Hope that certain family issues can be resolved. Just hope. Even though I'm not where I would like these situations to be, I hold fast to the hope that God provides me and thats how my fertility and family issues can still make the list. 4. My dogs. Charlie & Princeton are my fur babies. They brighten my day when I have a ton of work to do. My lunch break consists of cooking up healthy food and playing with them. I think it makes both of our days exciting. 5. Christmas music. I played my first Christmas song day before yesterday. I don't care that it's October. It's Fall, and to me that means it is fair game. ;) It's a rainy Tuesday. I like rainy nights when Mr. Charming and I can just stay home and watch a movie or write. On this particular drizzly Tuesday, Mr. Charming is shopping for archery accessories and I am working on blog promotion and this here post. I just enjoyed a bowl of So Delicious Vanilla Coconut ice cream with a quinoa flour chocolate chip cookie and it was mighty tasty. It's been an up and down week, I have felt on and off with some of my issues as of late, and my mother in law was in the hospital. Good has happened to and I know that's what we are meant to focus on. I haven't done a Tickle Me Tuesday post in a while, and I thought since I had the time to do so this evening I would.
1. Drizzly rainy nights and Brady Bunch reruns - I get alot of flack from watching old TV from my family and friends. But I don't care what people think, so it kind of works out nicely. They get to make their jokes, and I get to enjoy my shows. Mr. Charming enjoys classic TV as much as I do which is reason number 324,066 God allowed us to meet & fall in love & be married. So I'd have someone to help support my fantasy of being a 50's housewife. (when I'm not out working and being a equal and all). 2. Blogger Conferences - I was going to announce this in a seperate post, and I will when I write a special post about it, but I won a ticket to a blog conference I've been saving up to attend and it TOTALLY made my day. Right after I won, I took some time to do my devotional and recharge and then Mr. Charming came home and surprised me for lunch. This Tuesday totally rocked. 3. Travel Plans - I adore making travel plans. Mr. Charming will be traveling this fall quite a bit for my writing and for our anniversary and we also booked a romantic cabin in the woods to get away and enjoy the quiet and nature for a bit. 4. New Babies - Love when my family members and friends welcome new bundles of joy. I know I've mentioned my friend Karly on here before and our Godson, Elijah. She just welcomed her second baby boy into the world on Sunday. Little Liam and I am so excited to meet him. 5. Working With Family - I am still over the moon that my sister is working as part of my writing team at the magazine. She is doing such a fantastic job and I am so proud of her. I'm excited to launch some our other work endeavors this year as well! I hope you all had a beautiful Tuesday. Remember to always focus on the positive! I'd love to hear some of your amazing moments that happened today! Feel free to share in the comments section. Tickle Me Tuesday List Of The Week:
1. Good food & time to cook on a Monday. Nom Nom. 2. Mr. Charming's, well, charm. I had a crazy busy day yesterday of helping out friends at work, training, editing and writing, and meetings. When I got home last night my hubs had surprised with an adorable designer summer dress. Yeah, he's a keeper. 3. Farmville 2. Why is this iPad game so addicting, it calms me at the end of the day, and I totally played for like an hour in bed last night. I know a goal is to purge electronics from the bedroom. But I just really wanted to feed my little goats, and make peach yogurt on my dairy farm last night ok? Don't judge. 4. Hart Of Dixie. This show, I guess it premiered in 2011, is adorable. I don't watch much TV. But this Southern drama reminds me of Gilmore Girls and it's cute to watch when I'm editing. 5. Ballet. I guess I should give a ballet update. It's hard, I'm so meant for hip hop and salsa. My glutes and thighs kill. I still feel pretty in pink though... |
